Spring in Appalachia means many things to many people. For many, it is an opportunity to shake off the cabin fever and start those outdoor projects that have been on the mind all winter long. For others, it is time to dust off that fishing pole. However, for a great many Appalachians, it is time to start the hunt for the ever-elusive morel mushroom.
