Charles Bronson was born in 1921 as Charles Buchinsky in Ehrenfeld, Pennsylvania.
He was one of 15 children in a Lithuanian coal mining family and, though he completed high school, worked in the mines himself before serving as a tail gunner in WWII. After the war he attended some school on the G.I. Bill until he began to click as an actor.
He has appeared in more than 90 movies over the years and has numerous fan clubs online, both in this country and overseas. He is not only an international film star but also a talented painter.
He passed away in 2003.
